Description

Vampire Fudge is a festive two-layered fudge perfect for Halloween or any spooky occasion. It features a rich, dark chocolate cocoa base layer combined with a vibrant red white chocolate layer swirled for a marbled effect. This creamy, decadent treat is simple to prepare and sets beautifully in the refrigerator for a delightful sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layer

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 can (7 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon black food coloring (optional for extra darkness)

Red Fudge Layer

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 can (7 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring (amount as needed for desired color)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, ensuring the paper overhangs the edges for easy removal once the fudge is set.
  2. Make the Chocolate Layer: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips, 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. If desired, stir in black food coloring to deepen the chocolate color. Pour this mixture evenly into the prepared pan and place in the refrigerator to chill for 10 minutes.
  3. Make the Red Fudge Layer: In another saucepan over low heat, melt the remaining 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips with the other half of the sweetened condensed milk, stirring constantly until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract, then gradually add red food coloring until you achieve your preferred shade of red.
  4. Assemble the Fudge: Pour the red fudge layer over the chilled chocolate layer in the pan. Using a toothpick or skewer, swirl the two layers gently to create a marbled effect if desired.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the assembled fudge for at least 2 hours or until completely set. Once firm, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang, cut into 16 squares, and serve.

Notes

  • Be sure to stir the chocolate mixtures constantly over low heat to avoid burning and ensure a smooth texture.
  • Use high-quality white chocolate chips for best flavor and consistency.
  • The black food coloring in the chocolate layer is optional but enhances the vampire theme with a deeper, more intense color.
  • Swirling the layers adds a beautiful visual contrast but can be skipped if preferred.
  • Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
