Description

Turtle Lush is a decadent no-bake layered dessert featuring a crunchy chocolate cookie crust, creamy sweetened cream cheese layer, and rich chocolate-vanilla pudding, topped with whipped topping, chopped pecans, and drizzles of caramel and chocolate sauces. Perfect for easy entertaining and indulgent sweet cravings.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 30 chocolate sandwich cookies (crushed into fine crumbs)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1½ cups whipped topping (divided)

Pudding Layer

  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2½ cups cold milk

Toppings

  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup caramel sauce
  • ¼ cup chocolate sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare Crust: In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with the melted butter until combined. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form a solid cookie crust layer.
  2. Make Cream Cheese Layer: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add the powdered sugar and 1 cup of whipped topping, then mix until the mixture is light, fluffy, and fully blended. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cookie crust.
  3. Prepare Pudding Layer: In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix, instant vanilla pudding mix, and cold milk for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture thickens. Spread the pudding layer evenly over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.
  4. Add Whipped Topping: Spread the remaining ½ cup of whipped topping evenly over the pudding layer to create the topping layer.
  5. Garnish: Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly across the top. Drizzle the caramel sauce and chocolate sauce over the pecans to finish the dessert with a decorative and flavorful touch.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate the entire dessert for at least 4 hours, allowing it to set firmly and the layers to meld together.
  7. Serve: Once chilled and set, slice into squares and serve the Turtle Lush dessert chilled for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, omit the pecans or substitute with crushed pretzels for crunch.
  • You can also use homemade whipped cream instead of frozen whipped topping if preferred for a fresher taste.
