Description

Sugar Cookie Truffles are delightful no-bake treats combining crushed sugar cookies with cream cheese, coated in smooth white chocolate and optionally topped with sprinkles. Perfect for holiday celebrations or as a sweet bite-sized dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 2 cups crushed sugar cookies (homemade or store-bought)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Coating

  • 1¼ cups white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • Sprinkles for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cookie Crumbs: In a food processor, pulse sugar cookies until they become fine crumbs. Transfer these crumbs to a mixing bowl to proceed with the truffle base.
  2. Make Truffle Dough: Mix the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract into the cookie crumbs until a uniform dough forms that holds together when pressed.
  3. Form Truffle Balls: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the sheet in the freezer for 20–30 minutes to firm up the truffles.
  4. Melt White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  5. Dip Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Return dipped truffles to the parchment paper.
  6. Add Garnish: Immediately sprinkle with desired sprinkles before the chocolate sets for a festive touch.
  7. Set Truffles: Let the coated truffles set at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate hardens and truffles are firm and ready to serve.

Notes

  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week to maintain freshness.
  • For different flavor variations, try using flavored sugar cookies such as lemon or almond to add a unique twist.
