Description

Deliciously crunchy roasted mixed nuts seasoned with sea salt, garlic powder, and aromatic herbs, perfect as a savory snack or a party treat. This easy homemade recipe uses simple ingredients and the oven to create a flavorful, healthy delight that keeps for weeks.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Optional Seasonings

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  2. Prepare Nuts: In a mixing bowl, toss the raw mixed nuts with olive oil or melted butter until they are evenly coated, ensuring the seasoning will stick well. Add sea salt and any optional seasonings such as garlic powder, cayenne pepper or smoked paprika, and rosemary. Toss again to distribute the flavors uniformly.
  3. Roast Nuts: Spread the seasoned nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring once halfway through to promote even browning. Keep a close eye near the end to avoid burning as nuts can quickly go from toasted to burnt.
  4. Cool and Store: Remove the nuts from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet. The nuts will continue to crisp as they cool. Once cooled, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks to preserve freshness.

Notes

  • For a sweet-and-savory twist, add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or honey before roasting for a glaze.
  • You can also toss the nuts with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar after baking for a warm, spiced flavor.
  • Perfect as a healthy snack, party bowl addition, or homemade gift idea.
