Description

Delight in these Peach Pie Cruffins, a perfect blend of flaky crescent roll dough filled with sweet, spiced peach pie filling and baked to golden perfection. Ideal for breakfast or dessert, these homemade treats combine the buttery layers of cruffins with fruity warmth, topped with cinnamon sugar and optional glaze for an irresistible finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed)

Filling

  • 1/2 cup peach pie filling (chopped into small pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Topping

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
  • Optional: additional cinnamon sugar
  • Optional: powdered sugar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and press the seams together to form one sheet. If using puff pastry, roll it out lightly on a floured surface for ease of working.
  3. Add Filling: Evenly spread the chopped peach pie filling over the dough sheet, ensuring full coverage for balanced flavor in every bite.
  4. Roll and Slice Dough: Tightly roll the dough from the long side into a log. Using a sharp knife, slice the log in half lengthwise to reveal the layers filled with peach.
  5. Shape Cruffins: With the cut sides facing outwards, twist each half into a spiral shape, then roll them into cruffin forms. Place each shaped cruffin into the prepared muffin tin cavities.
  6. Brush and Sprinkle: Brush the tops of the cruffins with melted butter, then sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar for extra flavor and a lovely glaze when baked.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the cruffins are puffed and golden brown.
  8. Cool: Allow cruffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely or serve warm.
  9. Optional Decoration: Before serving, optionally drizzle with powdered sugar glaze or dust with additional cinnamon sugar for a sweeter finish.

Notes

  • Use either store-bought or homemade peach pie filling as per preference or availability.
  • Best served warm to enjoy the flaky texture and gooey filling.
  • Store leftover cruffins in an airtight container and reheat gently before serving to restore freshness.
