- Sauté Carrots: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil or butter. Add the carrots and sauté for 2–3 minutes to start caramelizing them.
- Prepare the Glaze: Stir in the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar or lemon juice, and sesame oil into the skillet with the carrots. Cook for another 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the glaze thickens slightly and evenly coats the carrots.
- Add Sesame Seeds and Season: Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the glazed carrots and stir to combine. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired. Serve the honey glazed carrots warm as a delightful side dish.
Notes
- For extra texture and color, use multi-colored carrots or slice some carrots lengthwise.
- Toast raw sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until golden and fragrant to enhance their nutty flavor.
- This dish pairs excellently with rice bowls, grilled meats, or tofu for a balanced meal.
