Description

Grape Soda Cupcakes are a fun and vibrant twist on classic cupcakes, infused with the sweet and fruity flavor of grape soda. Perfect for kids’ parties or any fun-themed event, these moist and fluffy cupcakes are topped with a light and fluffy grape soda frosting that enhances the unique taste. Optional purple food coloring adds a beautiful grape-inspired hue, making these cupcakes as visually appealing as they are delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Cupcakes

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup grape soda (not diet)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Purple food coloring (optional, for a more vibrant grape color)

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons grape soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Purple food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners to get ready for baking.
  2. Mix Batter: In a large bowl, combine the white cake mix, grape soda, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the mixture for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth. If desired, add a few drops of purple food coloring to achieve a vibrant grape hue.
  3. Fill and Bake: Divide the batter evenly among 18 to 24 cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
  4. Prepare Frosting: Beat the softened butter until creamy using a mixer. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition to create a smooth texture. Stir in grape soda and vanilla extract, then beat the frosting until it becomes light and fluffy. Add purple food coloring if you want a deeper grape color.
  5. Frost and Decorate: Frost the cooled cupcakes using a piping bag or spatula. For extra flair, decorate with sprinkles or candy grapes as desired.

Notes

  • For an intensified grape flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of grape-flavored extract to the batter and/or frosting.
  • These cupcakes are perfect for kids’ parties or fun-themed events.
  • Using purple food coloring is optional but enhances the visual appeal.
