Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 12 oz bucatini (or thick spaghetti)
Sauce
- 6 tbsp butter
- ½ lemon (juiced)
- ½ lemon (zested)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 tbsp fresh chives (chopped)
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan (or to taste)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Add the bucatini and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 9-11 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Melt the Butter. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until fully melted and beginning to bubble slightly.
- Prepare the Sauce. Add lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and cayenne pepper to the melted butter. Whisk together thoroughly to combine all the flavors.
- Add Herbs and Seasoning. Stir in chopped fresh parsley, chives, dried thyme, and red pepper flakes. Continue whisking to blend the herbs into the sauce. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Toss the Pasta in Sauce. Remove the skillet from heat and add the cooked pasta. Toss gently to ensure each strand is evenly coated with the garlic butter sauce.
- Garnish and Serve. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the noodles for a savory finish. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Use bucatini or any thick spaghetti for the best texture to hold the sauce.
- Adjust cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
- Fresh herbs add brightness but dried thyme works well if fresh is unavailable.
- For a richer flavor, use unsalted butter so you can control the salt level better.
- Parmesan can be substituted with Pecorino Romano for a sharper taste.
