Description

A classic Full English Breakfast featuring crispy sausages, back bacon, black pudding, sautéed mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, fried eggs, and buttered toast. This hearty British breakfast is perfect for a satisfying start to your day, combining rich flavors and a variety of textures.

Ingredients

Scale

Meats

  • 2 pork sausages
  • 2 slices back bacon
  • 1 slice black pudding (optional)

Vegetables & Beans

  • 1/2 cup baked beans
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tomato, halved

Eggs & Bread

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices bread (for toast)
  • Butter (for toast and frying)

Other

  • Cooking oil or butter (for frying)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Fry the sausages and bacon: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a little oil or butter. Fry the sausages for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned and cooked through. Add the bacon to the skillet and cook for an additional 4–5 minutes until crisp.
  2. Cook the black pudding (optional): If using black pudding, add it to the pan and fry for 2–3 minutes per side until the edges are crisped. Remove all cooked meats from the skillet and keep warm.
  3. Sauté the mushrooms and tomatoes: Using the same skillet, sauté the sliced mushrooms for 4–5 minutes until browned. Add the cut tomato halves, placing them cut side down, and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened and lightly seared.
  4. Warm the baked beans: Place the baked beans in a small saucepan over low heat and warm them gently, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Fry the eggs: Wipe the skillet if needed, then fry the eggs to your preferred doneness, traditionally sunny side up.
  6. Toast and butter the bread: Toast the bread slices until golden and spread generously with butter.
  7. Plate and serve: Arrange the sausages, back bacon, black pudding (if using), eggs, baked beans, sautéed mushrooms, tomatoes, and buttered toast on plates. Serve hot and enjoy.
