Description

This Fried Pickle Ranch Dip is a flavorful, creamy dip combining whipped cream cheese, sour cream, chopped dill pickles, and zesty ranch seasoning, enhanced with toasted panko breadcrumbs for added texture. Chilled to meld the flavors, it’s perfect served as a dip with chips, pretzels, veggies, or as a spread for sandwiches and wraps.

Ingredients

Scale

Primary Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 12 ounces Whipped Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Dill Pickle, finely chopped, plus more for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons Ranch Seasoning
  • 3 cloves Garlic, grated (fairly large)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Dill, chopped, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Chives, finely snipped, plus extra for garnish
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • Kosher Salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Freshly ground Black Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed Lemon Juice (about 1/2 a lemon)

Instructions

  1. Toast Panko Breadcrumbs: Heat a dry skillet over medium-low heat and add the panko breadcrumbs. Stir frequently until they turn a golden brown color, indicating they’re toasted and crispy. Remove from heat and set aside to cool, reserving 1 tablespoon for garnish.
  2. Combine Dip Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, blend the whipped cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and creamy. Add the finely chopped dill pickles, ranch seasoning, grated garlic, chopped fresh dill, snipped fresh chives, onion powder, kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Incorporate Toasted Panko and Chill: Gently mix the cooled toasted panko breadcrumbs into the dip mixture, reserving some of the toasted panko for garnish. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and deepen.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Before serving, sprinkle the top of the dip with additional finely chopped dill pickles, the reserved toasted panko, and fresh herbs like dill and chives for a fresh presentation. Serve cold with your choice of chips, pretzel thins, fresh vegetables, or use as a flavorful spread on sandwiches and wraps.

Notes

  • Toasting the panko breadcrumbs adds a delightful crunch and nutty flavor to the dip.
  • For best flavor, allow the dip to chill for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight to let the ingredients meld.
  • Adjust the salt and ranch seasoning according to your taste preferences.
  • This dip can be made a day in advance, making it ideal for parties and gatherings.
  • Feel free to serve the dip with a variety of dippers like crunchy veggies, chips, or pretzels for versatile options.
