Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 200g digestive biscuits or graham crackers (crushed)
- 150g milk chocolate (chopped)
- 100g dark chocolate (chopped)
- 100g unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons golden syrup or honey
- 10 Ferrero Rocher chocolates (roughly chopped)
- ½ cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Topping
- 100g milk chocolate (melted)
- 3–4 Ferrero Rocher (halved or crushed)
- Extra chopped hazelnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the tin: Line an 8×8-inch (20x20cm) square baking tin with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the tiffin later.
- Melt the chocolate mixture: Place milk chocolate, dark chocolate, butter, and golden syrup in a heatproof bowl. Gently melt over a saucepan of simmering water or use the microwave in short bursts, stirring frequently until the mixture is smooth and combined.
- Add flavorings: Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance the depth of flavor in the chocolate base.
- Combine dry ingredients: Mix in the crushed biscuits, chopped Ferrero Rocher chocolates, and optional chopped hazelnuts until all pieces are evenly coated with the melted chocolate mixture.
- Press the mixture: Firmly press the combined mixture into the prepared baking tin, ensuring it is compact and even.
- Add the topping: Pour the melted milk chocolate over the pressed base, spreading it out evenly with a spatula. Decorate with halved or crushed Ferrero Rocher chocolates and additional chopped hazelnuts if desired.
- Chill to set: Place the tin in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until fully set and firm.
- Serve: Once set, slice into 16 squares and serve chilled for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Store the tiffin in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
- For a richer, nuttier flavor, substitute part of the milk chocolate with Nutella or hazelnut spread.
