Ingredients
Scale
Roasted Garlic
- 2 bulbs garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Garlic Cream Sauce
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons roasted garlic (from above)
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon chicken powder
- Thyme & parsley (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Wrap Filling and Assembly
- 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
- 3 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar & mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Roast the garlic: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Slice the top off each garlic bulb to expose the cloves. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Wrap the garlic bulbs in foil or place them in a mini cocotte and roast for about 30 minutes until the cloves are tender and golden. Remove from oven and let cool.
- Prepare the garlic sauce: Once the roasted garlic has cooled, squeeze out the cloves and mash them into a paste. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, add the mashed roasted garlic, and stir. Pour in the heavy cream and add the chicken powder along with thyme and parsley if using. Simmer the sauce for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
- Combine chicken: Season the garlic sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Add the shredded rotisserie chicken to the skillet and stir until the chicken is heated through and fully coated with the creamy garlic sauce.
- Assemble the wraps: Lay a large flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon a generous amount of the garlic chicken mixture into the center of the tortilla. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the filling.
- Wrap and cook: Roll the tortilla tightly from the bottom up, keeping the filling snug inside. Heat a little olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the wrapped tortilla seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy. Flip the wrap and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden and the cheese has melted.
- Serve: Remove the wrap from the skillet and place on a cutting board. Slice in half if desired, and serve hot for a comforting and delicious meal.
Notes
- You can substitute rotisserie chicken with cooked shredded chicken breast if preferred.
- For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a dairy-free alternative.
- Adding fresh herbs like thyme and parsley enhances the flavor but can be omitted if not available.
- Make sure to seal the wraps tightly to prevent filling from spilling during cooking.
- If you prefer, you can use whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas to suit dietary preferences.
