Ingredients
Scale
Steak Marinade
- 2 lbs steak (ribeye, New York, tri tip, sirloin, etc.)
- 2-3 tbsp olive oil
- Prepared cajun seasoning (enough to coat steak well)
Dry Cajun Seasoning Blend
- 1 tsp prepared cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp mild paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1.5 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 3/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cayenne
- 1/4 tsp cracked pepper
Garlic Parmesan Butter
- 1 stick butter (8 tablespoons)
- 8-10 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup parmesan, grated
- 1 tbsp hot sauce (more if desired)
- 1-2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, minced
Instructions
- Prep the Steak: Cut the steak into 2-inch wide pieces and place them in a bowl or zip-top bag. Add olive oil and a few spoonfuls of prepared Cajun seasoning, enough to thoroughly coat the steak. Marinade for at least 30 minutes, ideally overnight for best flavor infusion.
- Soak the Skewers: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.
- Make Garlic Parmesan Butter: Melt the butter with minced garlic on the stove or in the microwave. Stir in the Cajun seasoning blend, grated parmesan, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes until fully incorporated. Remove from heat and mix in fresh minced parsley.
- Assemble the Skewers: Thread the marinated steak pieces onto the soaked skewers, packing them closely to keep the meat juicy while cooking. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (if required by your model).
- Cook the Skewers: Baste both sides of the skewers with the garlic parmesan butter and place a few skewers at a time into the air fryer basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness, flipping once halfway through and basting again with the butter.
- Finish and Serve: Once cooked, apply another generous layer of the garlic parmesan butter on the skewers before serving for extra flavor and moisture.
Notes
- Marinate the steak overnight if possible for deeper flavor.
- Use a meat thermometer to check doneness: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium.
- Wooden skewers must be soaked in water to avoid burning.
- Adjust cayenne and hot sauce to control the spice level according to preference.
- Serve with a side of grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
