Description

A refreshing and vibrant Blueberry Iced Tea that combines the natural sweetness of fresh blueberries with the zing of lemon and the robust flavor of black tea. Perfectly sweetened and chilled over ice, this drink is ideal for hot days and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

Fruit & Garnish

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare Blueberries: Rinse blueberries under cool water and pat dry to remove any impurities and ensure freshness.
  2. Brew Tea: Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan. Once boiling, remove from heat and steep the 3 black tea bags for 5 minutes to extract rich flavor.
  3. Sweeten Tea: While the tea is still warm, stir in 1/2 cup granulated sugar until fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  4. Infuse Blueberry and Lemon: Add the fresh blueberries and 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice into the warm tea mixture. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the blueberries to release some juice.
  5. Chill Tea: Fill a pitcher with ice cubes and pour the blueberry-tea mixture over the ice. Stir gently to cool it down quickly and evenly.
  6. Serve and Garnish: Pour the iced tea into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and floating blueberries for an appealing presentation and extra freshness.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar quantity according to your desired sweetness level.
  • For a stronger blueberry flavor, muddle some of the blueberries before adding them to the tea.
  • Use fresh mint leaves to add a refreshing herbaceous note.
  • This tea can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
  • For a sparkling version, top with club soda just before serving.
