Description
Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits are irresistibly soft, fluffy biscuits made with a simple combination of Bisquick mix, sour cream, and lemon-lime soda. Baked in melted butter, they come out golden brown, rich, and bursting with buttery flavor, perfect for breakfast or as a side for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
Butter
- ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter
Dry Ingredients
- 4 ½ cups Bisquick or similar baking mix
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup 7-Up or similar lemon-lime soda
- 1 cup sour cream (avoid using light sour cream)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to get it ready for baking the biscuits.
- Melt Butter: Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and set it in the oven as it preheats, allowing the butter to melt thoroughly. Watch closely to avoid burning.
- Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine the Bisquick baking mix, sour cream, and 7-Up. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix. The dough will be soft and sticky.
- Shape Dough: Lightly flour a surface and transfer the dough onto it. Gently pat the dough down to about ½-inch thickness to prepare for cutting.
- Cut Biscuits: Using a biscuit cutter or a floured glass, cut out individual biscuits from the dough.
- Arrange in Dish: Place the cut biscuits directly into the baking dish with the melted butter, ensuring they are spaced appropriately.
- Bake: Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until their tops are golden brown and they have risen.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the biscuits from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Do not overmix the dough to keep the biscuits tender and flaky.
- Using full-fat sour cream is recommended for the best texture and flavor.
- Keep an eye on the butter while melting to prevent it from burning.
- These biscuits are best served fresh and warm from the oven.
- You can use a floured glass if you don’t have a biscuit cutter.
