Description

This Beef & Broccoli Lo Mein is a quick and flavorful stir-fry dish combining tender sirloin steak, crisp broccoli florets, and delicious lo mein noodles tossed in a savory beef and broccoli seasoning sauce. Ready in just 25 minutes, it makes a perfect weeknight dinner that’s both satisfying and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Sauce

  • 1 package McCormick® Beef & Broccoli Seasoning Mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 pound boneless sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups cooked lo mein noodles (or cooked spaghetti or linguini)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, combine the beef and broccoli seasoning mix, water, and soy sauce. Stir well and set aside to allow the flavors to blend.
  2. Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sirloin steak strips and stir-fry for about 3 minutes or until the beef reaches your desired doneness. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Broccoli: In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 4 minutes or until they are tender-crisp, retaining their bright green color and slight crunch.
  4. Combine and Finish: Stir the sauce mixture and pour it into the skillet with the broccoli. Stir constantly and bring the sauce to a boil over medium heat. Return the cooked beef to the skillet along with the cooked lo mein noodles. Cook for an additional 2 minutes or until the sauce slightly thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.

Notes

  • Substitute lo mein noodles with spaghetti or linguini if unavailable.
  • For extra flavor, garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds before serving.
  • If you prefer spicier food, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes during cooking.
  • Ensure not to overcook broccoli to maintain its crispness and nutritional value.
  • Use a nonstick skillet or wok for best stir-fry results.
