Ingredients
Scale
Avocado and Eggs
- 2 ripe but firm avocados, halved and pitted
- 4 large eggs
Seasonings
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika or chili powder (optional)
Other
- Cooking spray or olive oil spray
- Chopped chives or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the optimal temperature for cooking the avocados and eggs evenly.
- Prepare the Avocados: Cut a small slice off the bottom of each avocado half to make them sit flat and stable. Scoop out a little extra flesh from the center to create enough space to hold the egg without overflowing.
- Arrange in Air Fryer Basket: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the avocado halves cut-side up securely in the basket.
- Fill with Eggs and Season: Crack one egg into each avocado half, adding the yolk first and then as much egg white as fits. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika or chili powder if desired over the eggs.
- Air Fry: Cook the avocado egg halves in the air fryer for 6 to 8 minutes if you prefer runny yolks, or 9 to 11 minutes for more set eggs. Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and egg size.
- Serve and Garnish: Carefully remove the avocado egg halves from the air fryer. Garnish with chopped chives or parsley if desired, then serve immediately for a creamy, flavorful breakfast.
Notes
- Use medium-sized eggs to avoid egg overflow during cooking.
- Serve alongside toast, crispy bacon, or a fresh side salad for a complete breakfast meal.
- Enhance flavor with hot sauce or everything bagel seasoning as desired.
